UPIC was founded 1984 in San José, California, as a Corporation, from four Shugart Managers, after Xerox, Stamford, had decided to sell Shugart Associates, which was a producer of Floppy, Hard Disc and optical drives.

The Idea was to install a global Net of UPIC companies.

In 1985 the UPIC GmbH, located at Aschaffenburg, Germany was founded .
UPIC is completly owned by private Investores.

In 2001 UPIC took over the "PROF.I.T. Warenhandels GmbH" and its activities, which are mainly the production of high precious metal parts and the trade with production materials and manufacturing equipment.

The Headquarter of UPIC is currently at Stockstadt/Main, in Germany (around 35 miles SouthEast from Frankfurt/Main Airport). UPIC is represented in following countries:

Bulgaria, Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and USA.
